Kentucky Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (KCDHH) Open House: The Open House on Dec. 13 was very well-received; in fact, there is a possibility it could become an annual tradition. If this seems exciting, please take a moment to see what else the agency has in store for 2009 in the Executive Director’s Vlog. To see pictures http://www.kcdhh.org/media/oh08/ (Exert from Executive’s Director’s Corner). If you look close enough you may find two or three pictures of me. Jean and I attended and one of the first people we ran into was Bonny Zilke. It is good to see HLAK people attending these functions, Thanks for coming Bonny.

Great News on Insurance Coverage for Hearing Aids Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA) has been pushing for hearing aid coverage in federal health plans. HLAA has learned that several of the Federal Employee Health Benefits (FEHB) insurance plans have expanded their coverage to include coverage of hearing aids for adults. FEHB’s inclusion of hearing aids makes it clear they see the lack of hearing aids for their employees as a health care issue. It’s our expectation that other carriers will follow the lead of FEHB.
